Craig Hattle - New NZFAI Chair

21 May 2026

New Zealand Farm Assurance Inc (NZFAI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Hattle as the organisation’s new Chair of the Board.

Hattle, who replaces existing Chair Nick Beeby, brings over 20 years of executive leadership and governance experience across agribusiness, health, engineering, technical services, consulting and sustainability sectors.

“After a very thorough recruitment process, I am pleased to be handing the mantle over to someone of Craig’s calibre,” says Beeby.

“Not only does he bring a deep affinity and passion for our sector and proven leadership in business transformation, financial oversight, risk management and stakeholder engagement but extensive experience in accreditation schemes.”

Hattle’s farm assurance background includes 16 years as a technical expert for the Agri/Horticulture GGAP for the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ) providing conformance oversight of companies undertaking systems audits.

His governance experience includes serving as Independent Board Chair for leading organisations such as Parininihi ki Waitotara Farms LP, Edison Consulting Group, CAREfirst Ltd, and GC Group, a director Egmont Seafoods as well as ongoing roles with multiple not-for-profit boards and committees. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.

The Board acknowledges the significant contribution of Nick Beeby during his tenure. His steady leadership and collaborative approach have guided the organisation through a period of growth and change, strengthening governance, deepening stakeholder relationships, and helping position NZFAI as a credible and influential voice in the sector.

“Nick has left NZFAI well-placed for its next phase, playing an increasingly critical role as a leading independent international farm assurance programme for New Zealand meat and wool,” says Hattle.

“I am excited to join, and I look forward to working with the Board and management team on continued growth and sustainable outcomes.”
